The Chairperson of NAWJU, Hon. Justice Dr Esther Kisakye Kitimbo (Middle) and other stakeholders during the court open day

On March 6, 2017 the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJU) in conjunction with the Chief Magistrates Court of Wakiso held a Court Open Day to interact with court users, who comprised school children, women, the old and other court users. 

The guest of honor, Supreme Court Justice, Hon. LadyJustice Dr. Esther Kisakye, who is also the chairperson of NAWJU, emphasizedthat judicial officers derive their power from the Constitution and that it isthat which guides their decisions.

During the interaction, the Chief Magistrate sensitizedthe public on Court Procedures and Processes. The day gave a platform to courtusers who gave feedback on challenges faced in their quest for justice. 

The event was attended by the district leadership andmembers of the District Chain Committee as well as representatives of theDistrict Chain Committee.
